Just an introduction

Hi all,

My name is Shawn Hoefer. My wife is Jen and her daughter is Lena. Together, we make up Laffing Horse Woodworks, Common Threads Fiber Arts and More and Foxbriar Farm.

I'm a spinner, teacher, woodworker, homesteader, and geek.

Jen is a weaver, crocheter, homesteader and business manager.

Lena is a spinner, knitter, homesteader and dyer.

We are homesteading 32 acres in the Arkansas Ozarks. It is here that I make TriLooms, carve crochet hooks of all types and sizes (the last one was a 36", double ended, Q), carve knitting needles, finish and restore spinning wheels and other looms and generally putter about like a mad scientist in a lab.

We raise Jacob sheep, Angora goats, Lamancha goats, llamas, horses, chickens, dogs, and cats.

We do craft and ren and fiber fairs all over the US.

Any questions?

Oh, yeah, we've made a point - Jen and I - of keeping a blog about our homesteading and business adventures and we often put up pics and observations and the like... Currently, my features pics of the newest loom and afghan crochet hook I've completed. Jen's has pics of the wee lil chickies.

Look us up>
