The gusset would be the challenging part. I'd just make a short-row turn, myself...

Those are sweet, Janise! Good grief though... although I've never used double-pointed or circular needles before (due to my odd way of holding needles), I would think it would be easier to use the double-pointed rather than circular for something so tiny... wouldn't it be?

Just a question.... isn't wire a little to stiff to manipulate with knitting needles? I would think it would be hard on your fingers too.

Yes, its hard on the fingers, but its easy to manipulate. The wire is narrow.

Patternworks (in Center Harbor, NH, USA) sells the kits to make them in the round and also sells sets of tiny 0000 steel dpns (set of five, about four inches long). The needle tips are nicely smoothed, too.
