I think it great that men knits. B/c then they could make what they need as the us women. Beside, they have been knitting in history and so forth too. Like when they needed fishing nets. They would knit them theirselves. Also, what a great way for women & men to share ideas. Pam-Doggirl3

Fishing nets aren't knitted :-)

And a lot of women made and repaired nets.

What would fishing nets have been made out of in Britian 500 years ago? Wool? Linen? Hemp? Cotton????

Flax, probably, perhaps hemp, there's little difference. Cotton was unusual in this country then. Wool was not suitable.

Mary Fisher spun a FINE 'yarn':

Me, neither, but I've been to the site in the past. (I'm in a webring called Men Who Knit, as a "friend-of") Noreen in the same boat without a paddle as Mary, grin!

It didn't seem to want to play for me, either, until I left the browser window open for a little while. I've got DSL, so I have no idea if that would work with dial up(if anyone has that.) TTFN, Carey in MA

When I click on the link, I get a "File Download" window with options to save or cancel. No thank you, I don't care to download a file I know nothing about so I guess I won't be looking at it.

I am a "Mac Driver" so that might be why it was easy for me. I am not certain which movie program it used -- it may have been a realnetworks or it may just have been the standard mac program. In any case, it opened just the way the little digital movies my SIL takes of the grandkids do.

It was longer than those though.

I am a "Mac Driver" so that might be why it was easy for me. It was a Quicktime movie in a fairly new version.

Thanks Judy, that helps me understand my problem. When I looked at the list of file types, mov was not there. So I don't think I have a program for opening mov files. With a dial-up connection, downloading movie files would likely be too show for me anyway.

Carey N. spun a FINE 'yarn':

meekly raises hand "am one of the few dinosaurs still on dial-up". Noreen gee, is there a twelve step program for THAT?????? LOL!
