Ack... I can't get on the newsgroups at all. :o( On Wednesday I was able to read the newsgroups on and off for a few minutes before they would shut off on me. Then all day yesterday I couldn't get to the newsgroups at all... and again this morning. The following is the ERROR I keep getting....

502 no permission for 69.63.37.69 (blocked by realm ExeculinkInternetServices)

Configuration: Account: news.xcelco.on.ca Server: news.xcelco.on.ca Protocol: NNTP Port: 119 Secure(SSL): 0 Error Number: 502 Code: 800ccca0

I have sent an email off to xcelco asking them to please look into it and find out why xcelco customers are being blocked? There have been other times when an ERROR comes up saying something like... too many people are linked to the newsgroups from xcelco and that is why I can't get through. I find it very difficult to believe that xcelco has that many customers reading the newsgroups that would overload the system and therefore block some customers from reading the newsgroups.

Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that I really haven't fallen off the face of the planet and I will be back as soon as possible.

Thank you Norma, for posting this for me! :o)

Gem asked me to let you know that she is still trying to get things working properly so she can again access the ng. She also asked me to say that she will be back ASAP.

Hi Norma,

Thanks for letting me know. I'm glad she is all right.

Hugs,

Nora

Seems Google is always available, but probably I'm missing something, I often do!

Yes, it is, however, not everyone wants to use it, especially being that you HAVE to use a REAL 'addy' to post usenet via google... AND, Gem, or her son, is paying for usenet service through their ISP, and their ISP is screwing up their access. JM2C, Noreen

Ah. Well if you are in touch with her, she can get and use a gmail (googlemail) address withGoogle as setup for posting ID.

Or, for the matter, she can use any of the free net-based emails for a google ID. I've done it when on the move and between ISPs.

Regards, JaneB

I'll suggest it next time I am in touch with her, Jane :D FYI, I used google once or twice with one of my nine GOOD google email addies, and regretted it ever since, as that first evening there were 90 spam emails . Noreen :D

Right you really have to decide to sacrifice a whole address to the cause.

Nite nite.

Jane

Thank you Norma - glad to hear Gemini is all right God Bless Gwen
