Boy, I could sure use some knitting classes so I could decipher instructions, but I live in a small town and no classes are available. So, once again, I'm asking for help in this newsgroup. I'm still working on my child's sweater and have made it as far as the sleeves. Here are the instructions:
"Cast on 30 (33,36,40,43,46) sts. Work in garter st for 1". (1) Work in St st, inc 1 st each side every other row 4(1,0,0,1,0) times, (2) then every
4th row 6 (10,12,10,10,12) times--50 (55,60,60,65,70) sts. Work even.....etc.."My question: I'm making a size 2 sweater, which is the casting on of 36 stitches. So, after the garter stitches, I guess I just ignore the next instructions (1), since it says 0 times for my size.
Then (2) instructions: every 4th row 12 times. Does this mean that I begin increasing on that first row after the garter st rows....or do I just St stitch for three rows, then begin the count on the 4th row?
I hope this is clearer than mud. I don't want to start incorrectly, then have to rip out the entire sleeve. Any help much appreciated.
