New knitting magazine

The premiere issue of "knitsimple" from Vogue Knitting arrived in my mail today. Apparently they sent this as a replacement for Family Circle Easy Knitting but neglected to explain it. Has anyone else see the new magazine?

I have not seen it but I purchased the last issue of "Easy Knitting".

Interesting I never knew that Vogue and family Circle worked hand in hand, or even that one owned the other.....

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaagh, I hope this isn't true, since I have knit a lot of items from FCEK... It was great for kids items. I'd better hang on to my issues if this is true.

I just bought the "Holiday 2005" issue and can't find anything in it about being the final issue, nor can I find anything on their website. They are still soliciting subscriptions.

Maybe `last issue' = latest issue released, and not the final one?

Join the club as I'm confused too which is why I posed the question. I've had a subscription to Easy Knitting for some time and just renewed it a few months ago. The most recent issue I got is dated Holiday 2005. The Knitsimple I received yesterday is dated Winter 2005 and the layout looks very similar to Easy Knitting which is what makes me suspect EK has been replaced. As the name implies, the patterns are meant to be quick and simple - think bulky yarn and big needles.

Shelagh that is exactly the reason that I do get the Family Circle knitting magazines. Lots of great kids patterns. To bad, when you just have the thing you like, that someone has to come along and change it again.

Jan I will look at the news stand to see if we can find out what the mystery is. It would not surprice me one bit, since we live in times where change rules. I hate change....LOL

Now, now, don't say than. Somebody might think you are an old fuddy-duddy. Anyway, I don't think the new magazine will be a lot different from the old. Although I didn't see many kids patterns in this one.

By the way, the address on the subscription card in the new magazine is exactly the same as the old. Also, the editor, staff and publisher are all the same. They give the url for the Web site as
