Nobody Home ????

I think I might make a sweater! There seems to be enough, and after the first part, there weren't as many breaks. I know now that it was owned by a crocheter - halfway through the ball I found a crochet hook! (Totally hidden - as I said, it was a _huge_ ball of yarn.) It's a nice slightly variegated light oatmeal color. I think it will show a texture pattern well.

That's a great idea! I just might do that when I rewind it. I can practice with the shorter lengths.

The thrift shops around here are pretty good on the whole. I just have to be very clear about what I am really likely to use.

Mirjam, here is an example of a Russian Join:

don't use it every time I knit but for certain fibers and certain projects, it is a very nice way to save yourself from weaving in all but a couple of ends.

Yes, size J. There were two strands used together, but I'm separating them. There should be enough yarn for a vest at least, maybe a sweater.
