I finally finished up my Christmas socks and started stashbusting. I've made 6 or 7 sachet bags using Sinfonia and the patterns I found in the Claire Crompton Knitter's Bible, and I've crocheted 2 afghans using up my scrapcrap. One actually looks nice and the other, well, let's just say my little boys LOVE it. Here's a link to the post in my blog showing the afghans. The purple one now has fringe on the ends.

Good job Shelagh! Where did you find the buffalo wool, and was it very expensive? Marie and the cats

I love the idea of making something with gauge swatches. Unfortunately, I'm a relatively new convert to swatching, so I don't have many to piece together. I'd really like to see how yours turns out with all the natural fibers and different textures.

very cool! Some day I will have an afghan to show made of gauge swatches I've been piecing together for, um, 25 years. It's now about the size of a receiving blanket, an incredible pot pourri of colors textures and fibers (mostly natural, I'm pleased to say, but including everything from mohair and alpaca to the kind of cotton you make dishcloths out of).

my FO's I finished a pair of fingerless gloves for my yoga teacher, who was disappointed that she didn't find any at the Spinners and WEaver's guild show (I'm not a member, but they have very cool things). Picture is at the top of my picture page:

's A hat to replace the one I lost (sniff!) that I had made of Magpie Great Adirondack Fluff. Don't know how it will come out. Pretty sure I'll have enough leftover Noro to finish it, but...I ran out of eyelash half way through. I'll wear it anyway.

a charity vest sweater.

White Buffalo is a brand name of unspun wool, and it's now discontinued. The stuff I'm using right now, I found at Value Village for a great price of $1.99 each... the price used to be around $11.99 so you can understand why I bought all I could find at that price. Depending on the colour, it also felts very nicely, except for the white and the pale grey mix. I've seen it on e-Bay for around $2.50 each PLUS approx $6.50 !!!! shipping, so that price isn't that great. It used to come in 6 ply and 3 ply, but I like the

6 ply for slippers.

Here's a link to a 2002 Knitter's review of this yarn.
