On 't' and OT (knitting and groaning)

Apart from my Grandmother who knitted for me when I was small, no one has ever made anything like that for me, until the beautiful comfortghan my friends here made for me. I treasure that and it is always next to me when I a sitting down. LOL I even take it with me on holiday:))

Well, in fairness, I started back in September knowing that I wanted to make this many gifts. The only one that is in danger of not being finished is this last jacket for my dad, but he'll understand if it's not completely finished by the time we do the gift exchange. It's been fun, and I hope to be able to think of something to make my brother and BIL so I can do the same next year.

I wish I could do the same for my in-laws, but the appreciation just isn't there. I did make a couple of nice afghans for one SIL years ago, but after she started showing them off and not giving proper credit for their construction I've declined any special requests. I did make my nieces DNA scarves, which were appreciated for their combination of coolness and geekiness

Hi Mirjam.

After 12 years of marriage I think I'm entitled to throw a snappy comeback at my MIL when she tosses out one of her infamous "compliments." I don't do it often, but when I do my husband tries to sink into the floor. I guess his women are supposed to get along all the time! It's quite entertaining :D

Hi,

This is why I now only make lapghans and such to donate to the local nursing homes. These folks really appreciate them and it gives me joy to see them with the lapgans over their knees. And we really don't need a holiday to give and no deadlines to make you nervous.

Of course, if my DD asks for something, them I will make it for her. With pleasure!

Happy Holidays,

Di

In the King James Bible it is spelled Zipporah. If you Google for it, you might find some pix.
