Most of Texas (excluding where the hurricanes dumped near the eastern border with Louisana) has had no rain since July. We're tinderbox dry, there's a mandatory burn ban in force, and various authorities are asking motorists to phone in with tags of people who flick lit cigarette butts out of their vehicles.

My lawn is history, after all the work I put into it last spring - I just couldn't keep up with the watering bill. A business uphill from me has a broken sprinkler system - my gutter has been running 6" deep for three days, I've been repeatedly calling the city. FINALLY one of my civil servants came out and issued a hefty fine on the place. Seems they're supposed to have a "zeroscape" (ie, native drought-tolerant plants) landscape and instead have about half an acre of buffalo grass and azaleas. Bastards.

SEND RAIN!!

Rain is? My Mom used to tell me that mist was great for the complexion. I actually love to walk in the mist/fog.... well, when my legs want to let me walk. :o)

hehehe You just reminded me of something I saw yesterday, Els. I happened to be looking out the window yesterday when there was still a puddle in the parking lot next door (it has since dried up) and saw this little girl walking toward the car with her Mom. She got to the puddle and in her little pink rain boots, jumped in it a few times splashing and laughing. It was so cute! :o)

All of that rain must be miserable. I saw on the news that you may get a break on Sunday.

I had a different weather issue. Yesterday was just gorgeous and warm here in Ohio (there is snow expected tomorrow). It really screwed with house breaking the new puppy. She wanted to be outside all day and she and my 8 year old dog were really starting to bond while outside playing so I was out with her a lot. Now she's confused about outside being for potty and inside for playing. At least she still tells me when she need to go out for the nasty stuff though! She is just so darn cute - she's a brown and white beagle puppy. My other dog is also a beagle. I like beagles :)

Well, if it is raining, the humidity is high, and high humidity is a natural mosturizer.

Working on it, here in Vancouver we have mudslide warnings, rivers are overflowing, and some roads are closed because there is to much water on the road. Must be said though that that road is closed every year, it runs through a natural delta, on an Indian reserve. I quess the weather is not to be tamed...LOL

That ticks me off anyway, even without the tinderbox situation! When I used to smoke years ago, I would *never* throw a lit cigarette out. :o/ (Totally unrelated, but I also never ever throw chewing gum out either. I have visions of some poor bird or animal getting it caught in their throats.)
