Got it. I thought there was a blockbuster connection when I saw the way some of the questions were worded. I did it, I hope all goes well w/ it.

I'm really surprised that one of the few things we share with our Transatlantic cousins is Blockbuster. Why can't it be a really nice yarn store instead!! I completed the survey Allaya, I hope it goes well for your DH Love Christine

Allaya, I have completed it, and I think it is so OK that *I* in Norway was able to answer the questions! The survey could easily have been made here... ...but.. I think we are VERY "serious" (or "dry sticks") in situations like that, so the sweet humoristic answer- possibilities would have been written in a very "dry" or "matter-of-fact" manner ;-) NO "cat at the lap" in such a survey! LOL! I simply LOVE to discover cultral differences like that! LOL!!!! AUD ;-))

Am I the only one here who has never rented a movie? I started to do the survey but soon realized it was not meant for me. When I do want to watch a movie on my TV, which is rare, I would get one from the library. Why pay for something you can get free?

I have completed the survey. I don't rent movies but dh and ds do, quite frequently!

Allaya, we all know that, take a deep breath, in and out, sit down and have a coffee. I have done the survey, and my only complain is, as with all surveys that the question never fits the answer I want to give....LOL

Keep on smiling kiddo and do not let people bother you that do not know what they are talking about.

Hello everybody

My husband is working on a project for the marketing portion of his MBA. His objective is to conduct market research by creating a consumer survey. So, if you guys have a minute and ever rent movies, we'd appreciate it if you could take the survey and help him out with his data analysis portion. :) The survey is online and you don't have to enter any personal information. Thanks again!

Anybody is fine, just as long as you are able to access either Netflix or Blockbuster in your area, I imagine. Thanks Norma!

There is most likely a tracking cookie to make sure the survey is not completed by the same person twice, which would skew the survey results. If you click on "exit survey" you will see it links to UC Irvine School of Management website...NOT BLOCKBUSTER. This is a student survey, and the tool used to create the survey, called Webmonkey

is recommended by the school. The two companies chosen by my husband's group were totally arbitrary, and he nor any of his group mates have no affiliation with either Netflix or Blockbuster...I should know...we've been married for nearly six years! (and if he were, I'd be very angry that we have to pay to see movies)There's no need to be publically cynical...if you dont' want to take the survey, just don't. I'm not forcing anybody. I've been a member of this group for long enough that most of the people here know who I am and know that I'm a knitter not a corporate spammer. Just because you see a cookie doesn't automatically mean somebody is trying to hack your system!

Hello again!

Just wanted to extend a great big "Thank You" to all of you who were able to try and help. I realize from some of your responses that some of you weren't able to complete the survey for various reasons, but the thank you goes to you too! Thanks so much for your time. DH was hoping for at least 40 responses, and he's gotten over 150, so I'd say that he did pretty well, thanks in part to your participation! :D

Please continue to take the survey if you haven't done so yet, or pass it on if you feel so inclined. I believe his project is due on Tuesday, so I suppose you can do it up until then. *shrug*

Anyways, the survey has brought up some other questions regarding how these businesses conduct their business that Adam finds pretty interesting. I'll put that in another post though. :)

THanks again!

LOL! You are lucky that you have a library that is well stocked with movies! Our libraries are open at strange unpredictable hours throughout the week and don't have much to them, unfortunately. There is only one library in the area that is worth going to, and that is because they have good children's programs...but it's a pretty good drive for a pregnant mom with an antsy toddler in the back. hehehehe

Thanks for taking the survey, Bell Jar. :)

Incidentally, my husband is interested in your initial reaction to the survey and would like to do a brief email interview with you about it, if possible.

The reason for this is because your initial reaction in assuming that the survey was put out by either Blockbuster or Netflix came up a few times with other survery takers. Adam finds this interesting because he thinks it gives a lot of insight as to how people view Blockbuster's business tactics. He suspects it might be similar to an "I hate Starbucks" analogy.

So if you or anybody else who had this initial reacion would like to expand on any negative feelings you had about either company, Adam would like to know about it and why. Your name won't be brought up, he just wants to have first hand evidence to support his hypothesis. Anyway, that's if you want to...it was an interesting side note for him. :)

Thanks! Allaya
