Mirjam is your blue Jay noisy and squaky.....our Stellar Jay, make sure we know they are there. Although I do think that the 5 jays, who were here all winter, have moved on North. Have to look up if they are a migrating bird. I love them, with their cheeky manners.

Elsje , the first days the jay , was well behaved , he probably didn`t know who the water Bowl belonged to ,,,, yesterday he Bluntly Squacked at the honey sucker pair , who Froze when they saw him ,coming down . They have their nest over the bowl , in the Bouganvilia. But before they sort of backed off , down came the Song thrush [one of the 3 pairs that also nest in the Bouganvilia,,, Somehow between the Noisy Jay and the hesitatnt honey suckers ,, the Song thrush dived innto the wider bowl , gave a good washing to his body , than spread his wings and in a good shake , sprayed water all around ,,,, the Jay probably felt outnumbers , and backed of ,, the thrush than moved to the other bowl to drink , and as he left the tiny pair of Huney suckers , bathed and drunk as well ,,, Jay wasn`t seen again until much later ,,, I think the water bowls , inspire the water hole psychology as well.. mirjam with tiny jungle in a bowl ..

You certainly have a great bird fauna close by. When you talk about honey birds, are you talking about humming birds or is this a total other bird.
