Hello everyone, I am working on a baby sweater which is knit from one sleeve to the other. I have to increase one stitch each end every 4th row. I usually keep track by putting a stitch maker on the row I make the increase and then count my stitches after I make the increase. I was wondering if there is an easier/better way to do this? If you know how many stitches you have when you start the increase section there's no need to count stitches after every increase row, just make sure you make the increases as specified.
As far as marking increases, the safety pin method works as well as any, or just pay attention to your knitting and do without.

I use to put a bit of different colored yarn around the increased stitch (just from the "right side", around and to "the right side", no "knots") . These "two end" marks tell me how many increases I have done, and it is easy to count the rows untill next increase. AND it is very easy to "nip" the threads out, when all increases are done.
