Re: Today's evil enablement

Once again, I state; They are located in WEST SEATTLE, WASHINGTON!!!! They

> are less than three miles from my home and the owner heads up one local > knitting group at a coffee shop three DOORS from my DSIL's HOME! Area code > 206 Seattle, Washington. > > M2CW > > JJMolvik

I get your message loud and clear, go and buy some of that great sock wool for me and send it along in a little paper boat, shove it off the shore in Peuget sound, and give it a good Breath in and out send off. It will sail along without being picked up by the USA CoastGuard radar and we Canadians will be ready on the other side of the sound to collect the wool with knitting needles on the ready.....LOL

Thanks for your kind offer.

Hugs from Els.

PS Maybe we should buy some if and when we come in August to meet up with Jan....LOL

Hmmm -- maybe we should plot a little fiber tour in August - go pet some of that pretty stuff in a few places. JJ - got a good list of options??? I have a little red car that stops for yarn shops. Let see - munch some goodies, pet some yarn and chat

-- sound like a plan?

I like your plan. As a reminder, my Elderhostel program runs from 8/27 through 9/1. I will not have much free time during the program but intend to be there some extra days before and/or after the program.

Sounds great. Good that you have a well trained car that knows where and when you need a parking spot....

Whoops - I might have to beg out of the meet up in Seattle - Matthew (DS#2) has decided that Sept 2 is the date for his wedding but hasn't found a place yet and my house is the backup. I think it is looking like that is going to be a busy time around here. Things might change between now and then -one can never tell what they will decide to do- but if that plan stays in place I will be busy through the wedding day.

I am happy with the marriage, however, as they seem very comfortable with each other.

That's so disappointing but I'll remain hopeful you find a bit of free time while I'm there.

Jan I am very sirously thinking of havinf a little holiday while you are in Seattle, to meet with you, since I missed you last year in Victoria. I was wondering if there is a YWCA hotel in Seattle just like there is in Vancouver. I love the Vancouver One, and that would be a great solution for me to stay at.

There is a YWCA in Seattle right downtown. I don't know if it has hotel facilities but it a terrific location at 5th and Senaca. There is hostel in Pike Place maket but it might be a little noisy.

Els, I was about to answer that their facilities are mostly used for shelter purposes but I checked on their website and stand corrected. I have NO idea what the facility is like - perhaps someone else has. I have only been on the first floor of their building - which is as Holly indicates right downtown at the corner of 5th and Seneca. This is what I found on their website: "Hotel Services The YWCA rents hotel units for single or double occupancy. The rooms are clean, simple and safe and are located in a building nestled in the heart of downtown Seattle. The building contains two diverse deli eateries and easy access to public transportation.

Guests share kitchen and bath facilities. Each room comes equipped with a mini-fridge for food storage. These rooms are available to women only. No children or men are permitted. Nightly rates range from $46-$75, depending on the room and amenities. We offer a special weekly rate where you pay the regular rate for six nights (depending on the room and amenities) and you get the seventh night free. These rates apply all year-round.

Reservations are recommended. Call (206) 461-4888 to make a reservation. We accept cash, Visa and Mastercard."

It would be wonderful to meet you there. But if you can't get there, I'm still open to ferrying over to Vancouver Island for a day or two.
