Nora, a big FYI... I HOPE you don't have the problems that a lot of my other online friends have had as of late with Smiley's... IE: colour shown, not colour received, etc... and their disclaimer that they won't accept returns/exchanges, as it's not 'their' fault.... I know of 15 yahoo groups who have black-balled them as of Wednesday... Hugs, Noreen

Noreen, Is it a case of the color doesn't look the same in person, or that someone ordered blue and got red? I would think they'd want to make up for a packing error like that. Or do they attempt to pick the next closest color to what's ordered, if they are out? Just curious, having not ordered from them.

I'll let you know what I receive. The color that I ordered was the hushabye baby variegated and there is no other variegated listed so it would be hard to send something else. Thanks for the tip though as this is the first time I've ordered yarn on line.

Hi, Carey! Well, one group is discussing ordering a burgundy and getting RED. Another group is discussing the returns policy, as wool ordered had sliced yarns ... so... that's the only reason I mentioned it. I personally HAVE ordered from Smiley's "in-the-past" and had a VERY GOOD experience... but that was over a year ago... the yahoo groups who are PO'd... is very 'recent'. JM2C, HTH, Noreen

Hmm. My experience was earlier also -- also satisfactory. I don't think I have ordered from them in the last six months. I order regularly from Elann and have also had very good service from Yarn Forward (Look at their "Treasures" - great yarns at very good prices).

Thank you Noreen, but let me say that I do not normally process the web orders (unless we are very busy, or to cover vacations and illnesses), so I would not normally see your orders going through the system.

Of course under common law if they did not ship the goods as advertised or the goods were damaged then you have a claim against them, but enforcing it could be a problem.

Moral: Buyer beware, and read the return policy before ordering.
