Sunday in Labrador

If you are interested, you could have a look at my Labrador album, and see what greeted me this morning.

Thanks, Darlene. I should be used to this by now, but it still comes as a shock when we get a sudden dump of snow after a few weeks of spring weather.

I will ask him where it is. It is a new cargo ferry ship for Stena called "Trader" I think he goes out on June 1st. Shirley

Shirley, what kind of a ship is it, and why is he sailing it to Holland. Boats and Holland, interesting topics. Hope someone is also doing some knitting a board and than all is perfect...LOL

It is replacing the Sea Trader which my eldest son is Chief Electrical officer. It plies between Rotterdam and Killingholme in UK. The present ship does not take passengers as such only the drivers of lorries. There are no facilities at Killingholme to cater for passengers.

We go and visit our son on his ship and stay for lunch when he is doing his months stint onboard. At the moment he is home. He returns on Wednesday. DH and I spent Christmas onboard year before last. We have been in all the nooks and crannies onboard, down in the engine room. I took many pictures of it.

Our youngest son who is on the Sea Rider the sister ship also Chief Electrical Officer has been asked to go since he is not on leave at the moment. Since he is married we do not get to see him on board because his wife and family go to see him.

Their ships pass in the night somewhere in the North Sea although it is likely the eldest son will join it and they will take each other of duty each month. Shirley

It is a cargo ferry that plies between Uk and Holland. My eldest son has worked the route for 5 years and my youngest for 3 years.

The ship takes cargo containers and the big lorries carrying goods and food in refrigerated lorries

Who knows if there is knitting done but they do have female officers and female drivers. Shirley
