Today I have been to my "club", we are 7 "jolly girls", age 52-76.
I brought my comfort afghan to show them. They were completly overwhelmed when I told the "story" behind it, where you people come from, and about the squares which all first goes to Nora in NY to be an afghan and then was sent to me! I have of course told them about RCTY, but this was the "proof"! We studied the patterns and yarns in the squares, and had a very good time!
I brought my knitting (the toot I told about in another thread); E. was knitting a sweater, T. knits socks for her grandson, and A-M. brought five beautiful knitted lacy doilies in thin crochet yarn(12/3). They were for a bazar arranged at the nursing home where her mother lives. Another of the girls, M, works there. She is engaged to activate the people who lives there.
I have saved a lot of links to knitted lace patterns, and now I think I will show some of then to A-M. She does beautiful work, neat and accurate, and she works fast! She is not too eager to use Internet, I hope to "get her converted" !LOL! I think this ng would be very useful and nice for her!
Å, the hostess, served a wonderful meal, and I "concluded" the evening by reading Mirjams story: "Don't mess the little old ladies", We roared with laughter! Thank You Mirjam!AUD ;-))
