Here are some of my observations, after reading my last Textile magazinesI have bought this month. What do you guys think, do you have similarpeeves....?? With magazines becoming more and more expensive, I do thinkthat they should get a right.....LOLStarting with Spin Off. I wanted to let everyone know that Meg Swansenhas published the Opinionated Knitter: Elizabeth Zimmermann Newsletter1958 1968. As always there are lots of great articles about spinning aswell as knitting. This is one of the magazines I really like. It is welllaid out, and easy to read, with good articles.Threads magazine, I used to subscribe to and cancelled their subscriptionwhen they focused on sewing only Now I will buy the odd copy if I findssomething interesting they have to share. Low and behold, like so manymagazines think they have to do, they have changed their layout of themagazine. God forbid we stick with what works. Now you have a hard timediferenciating between aricles and adds. I still think that they sharelots of great ideas. Handwoven went throught that same need of changingthe looks of the magazine and it drives me crazy.Many of the knitting magazines, suffer from the same illment. Withknitting It also helps when they do not let you flip the pages back andforth to read a pattern, e.g. explanations are in the back or the front,away from the pictures and the gauge informations. I take paper andpencil and rewrite what I want to knit so I have it all in one spot. Thisflipping back and forth is really a problem when the pattern iscomplicated. One pattern should be all written at once. Handwoven usedto have a picture of the item with part of the explanations, and the restwas in a worksheets at the end of the magazine, all chopped up. Someyears ago they did change that and that was a great impovement for me.What do you think am I alone in thisEls

Well it all kind of went over my head anyway. I just posted the URL because of you translating the letter here a couple of days ago and that reminded me of it. :o)

Yes I can understand that, I did get the pronounciation at once, but not necesarily any word play. Also I am not familiar with all the new Dutch magazines either. Thanks for sharing Gem

Els, thanks for the translation I couldn't have done it better . I went to the distillery and bought the 2 cones of tencil, what a bargain. $ 12.75 Canadian a pound. We had Nancy Newman this week as a speaker at our Toronto guild , she is a textile artist and makes beautiful full length woven kimono's and unusual scarves. All from exotic fibres. Let me know if you want to know more about this up and coming artist. Mieke
