Thinking about using horse tail hair to make a belt. Have you done this before?

I brushed out all my horses hairs and I saved it. I am thinking about making my daughter a little belt out of it. Adding some beeds and all. Has anyone here ever done this on here before? I was just wondering. Love to have any tips that might help make it easier to do.

Well I gotta go.

Thanks,

Horse tail hair was the traditional material for fine fresh water fishing line. I think they were knotted together, rather than being spun.

Horse hair is the traditional material for stuffing a knitter's pouch.

I NEVER heard that before (about it being used for fishing.) That's really neat! I haven't started working on them too much just yet. I have to get all the tail hair and mane hair in two different piles first. Right now I just have them in bags from the different horses. I'll let you know how these turn out tho.

Thanks for sharing that information with me.
