What's everybody 'working' on?

Well I am as usual working on lots of different things.

  1. pair of slippers for soldiers
  2. baby afghan
  3. toques for small babies through ICROSS

other items also on the go.

I am working on an Aran set for an expected baby boy. I allow myself one hour most days to knit, and I need to have it done in two weeks. Luckily, it is not very big. Unluckily, it is on fine yarn. Wish me luck!

Put aside my other projects (Aran sweater from KnitPicks, the knitting sheep sweater from Linda's Craftique, and a modular jacket in koigu plus the hardanger angel)for Christmasknitting--several Icarus shawls for the sis-in-laws and a couple of selected friends. I have one done and one almost done in Shadow from KnitPicks. I love it.

I'm glad you got a laugh, but I can't take credit for the term. I read it in someone's knitting blog. I guess there are people who stick to one thing, and people who jump around!

Hee hee - that's a good one too. You're right Mirjam - these projects of mine just jump at me when I'm tired of one and want to continue on to the next one. ;>D

You're a busy lady Darlene ;>)

I'm NOT a monogamous knitter..... I always have a pair of socks on the go - this time they're "gift" socks, for my daughter who is always after me to make her some. I'm using Elann superwash yarn - 75% wool, 25% nylon, a patterning yarn.

I've started some Christmas knitting too - a scarf for BIL, just finished a scarf for sister.

My Peacock Feathers shawl and my fine chenille shawl are "resting" at the moment because these other projects need to be finished sooner.

I'm awaiting the delivery of enough Knit Picks Alpaca Cloud for two shawls. One for my sister in the "Autumn" colour, and one for me in Midnight. They had a free pattern for a "Candle Flame Shawl" that looks lovely, so that's the pattern I'll be using for this yarn. A woman at my local knitting group had knit the Icarus shawl from the Alpaca Cloud, and it was wonderful. That yarn truly is as soft as a cloud. I can't wait to get it!

Have a great Sunday everyone.

Hi

Yes I am keeping very busy but right now I am between contracts at work so I can spend a little more time crocheting and knitting than normal so figure I will. It's nice have some time to just craft.

I am also going to get more stuff to work on when I go to the Creative Sewing show here in Toronto in October. I have again signed up for classes so that will mean more projects and a lot more ideas.

Hopefully I will meet up with Madhatress there as well between sessions.

Take care Darlene

Jenny,

Have you sold your handiwork on eBay before? How did it sell? I keep thinking about selling some soakers or longies on there but then I remind myself that I don't even have the time to knit for DD! Mostly due to the fact that I have so many expecting friends to knit for! Maybe there is something in the water?

Wow, I think this is a record low for me!

1) Cargo baby pants (in dark blue Peace Fleece - love this yarn! Though I just noticed it is turning my bamboo needles blue :( ) from knitty.com:
formatting link
Whitby Socks from Nancy Bush's "Knitting on the Road" (in Cascade Yarns Sassy Stripes, do NOT like how this yarn stripes up - I was expecting much smaller stripes).

I have a couple other UFO's not worth mentioning too.
