Wild Weekend of S.E.X.

Hi

Gee just what I needed to do this weekend was to find a sale of yarn.

I was doing really good yesterday until I saw 454 gram bags of mill ends for $4.99 which is a good price for me to find. I picked up 8 bags of yarn to use for afghans and such for the hospital and figured that was great.

DH after seeing what I got yesterday asked if I wanted to go back to the sale today. How could I say no so off we headed again. I figured I would only pick up a couple more bags if I found anything different. Well that didn't last long and I added another 5 bags to my stash today. I figured at least I now have enough for a few afghans for the hospital so I was happy.

The happiness ended up into a laugh when my cell phone rang and my mom asked if I went to the sale today. I immediately said yes and she asked if I found any variegated yarn in the mill ends but of course I hadn't found any. Well believe it or not my mom had also picked up a

454 bag of variegated yarn for me this morning at the same sale.

So now I have 14 bags of yarn that has been added to my stash so I won't be going to a yarn sale for a while.

Time to get back to crocheting so that I can make room in my apartment again.

Darlene- that sounds great! How can you NOT expand your stash at those prices!

I'm in Toronto too... so kinda wondering which is your LYS, but seeing as I'm not supposed to be spending any money for a couple of week.... I probably don't need to know!

Dianna,

Well, you never know the store may be just around the corner from you and it never hurts to know where one is located. LOL

Hugs,

Nora who added ten skeins of yarn to my stash today.

You better duck LOL. I already had almost 140 pounds of yarn in my stash and just added another 14 pounds.

Now that I'm back working I'm lucky if I use 2 pounds a month. Yes lots of yarn in my stash now.

Thanks for making me smile when I read this post at work.

This was actually the Lewiscraft warehouse sale that was on this last weekend that I went to.

I'm an East Yorker if that helps locate me.

I don't have a LYS because I haven't found one that I like. I usually end up buying my yarn are various locations. Have you found a good one near you?

How big were your 10 skeins because of course DH is teasing me about the volume that is currently sitting in the hall.

Now I just need to find the time to use all the stash that I now have.

Maybe time to hide for a while and crochet like made.

I live in walking distance from the Naked Sheep in the Beaches, and the Knit Cafe is right across the street from work, so they are both very "local".... but they don't have much in the way of affordable for any big projects, and they don't seem to have decent sales.

I enjoy the atmosphere at Lettuce Knit- but I have to admit- I worked for Lewiscraft for years, so still have a bit of loyalty to them, although they have changed so much since the Lewis family sold the company. It makes me sad to see the state of the yarn wall sometimes.

Organizing the wall with all the colours and textures of yarn was always my favourite part of the job..... Sometimes you'll catch me in a yarn store, tidying up their wall!

Hi Darlene,

Well, the two solids are each 225g and the variegated are 170g each. LOL

Being Third generation grocer, I do that when I go grocery shopping. Hence, I don't do the shopping if I can help it!!!!!!

I haven't been to either of those stores so now have yarn shops that I want to visit. Gee with living in the east end all my life you would think I would know where all the yarn shops are out this way.

I usually end up at Walmart, Michaels or Lewiscraft for the larger project yarns.
