Completely OT: life-changing breakthrough

Not quilt-related, except that maybe if you try this you'll have more time to quilt...

I eat the natural peanut butter--peanuts, salt. I don't understand why companies grind peanuts, remove the oil, then add back hydrogenated oil or palm oil. So I buy the Laura Scudders natural stuff, the kind you have to stir when you open it. And stir. And stir. It's messy and it takes forever. I hate it. New jars sit in my pantry until I give in and go through the whole messy process.

Today I had a brainstorm as I was getting ready for the shower. I asked DH to take the new jar out of the pantry and set it on the counter upside down. By the time I got ready to make my pb&j for work (about 30 to 40 minutes), the stuff was 95% mixed. The oils had risen up through almost all of the the jar and all I needed to do was give it a quick stir with a long-handled teaspoon to make sure they'd gone all the way through evenly. TADA!

It's not rocket science, but I feel smart.

I turn my stored cans of paint every month or so to keep the paint from settling- and some types of foods, etc. are stored upside down and turned periodically, too. It works for many things- shoot, ANYthing that separates or settles to the bottom. VBG (The ex had a touch of OCD and he'd go behind me and set everything right-side-up again and it drove both of us mad! LOL)
