Yipeeeeeeeeeeee!

I just bought myself a HV 1+ with ALL the goodies with it. ( OM, all feet, cards, additional cards, extra embroidery disks, software, dongle/card reader, extra hardback books on embroidery) The shop is giving me one year warrenty also. I cant wait to pick it up:)

Life is gooooooood :)

Now I am asking myself whether to keep or sell my old HV 940. I do love this machine and it works beautifully. Should I keep it as a backup? I understand that if I have something I am working on embroidery wise, I cant sew with it. ( One downfall of not having separate machines from both I suppose) I just dont have the room to keep 3 machines.

So it is! Enjoy your new machine. The waiting is the pits!

Keep!

Look, I have a small 3 bedroom house, and I have 12 machines right now! Three? Ya got room for a DOZEN, gal! Keep it! Having one to work on while the other plays the fancy tunes is good, and you do really need one for those down times when the 1+ will be in for tuning and adjustment (and they do need this on a yearly basis).

I take it the third is a serger?

Yep, the third is the serger from hell. The possessed one. LOL. I had written that I was going to buy another serger but low and behold I bought the 1+ instead. :) I have no impulse control Plus friends who are enablers!! LOL. They are going, " you really wanted one, you cant take your vacation so use the money for something you want.... ect ect. Gotta love great friends. Since moving into this house I have yet to set up a sewing area like I had in my old house. Here am I stuck to the dining room table in the formal dining room. A dark dismal room and I really have to force myself to go in there. UGH. Maybe I will just get rid of the table and take over that room. LOL, I dont have the dinner parties like I used to so using the room for its intended purpose is nil. I couldnt even begin to imagine having that many machines. You are a professional but for what I am reading here, there are professional sewing machine hoarders here on the board too!!

I'm sure the serger will behave really well next time you use it. Just show it the new 1+ and tell it you'll swap it for an Elna Evolve if it doesn't behave...

My hubby does that sort of enabling when he can!

Nock another window in it, convert it so that it's primarily a sewing room, and build a conservatory that can be used as a dining room when you have guests!

Oh, I have very few machines, and they tend to collect me... especially the older ones! The Bernina and Brother sergers and the Husqvarna Lily are primarily work machines, though I do use others on customer projects when the fancy takes me, or I have to take stuff away with me.

Sorry to follow up on my own post but I meant to say the bobbins are free for the asking to Cindy. I don't want anyone to think I am trying to sell something here. ;-) Just trying to rehouse some sewing stuff to someone who can use it. Cindy, I replied to what I think was a post of yours on the embroidery newsgroup. I suggested you look into the yahoo group for 1Plus/Orchidea users. Good group, lots of information and helpful advice. Enjoy your machine. The pictograms are fun to play around with as well. The 1+ is a good sewing machine too.
