cutting glass rods?

I'd probably use a torch ...

But, if you cut them you'll have more leftover ends - of course you can stick the ends back together with the torch too.

I have mine in cardboard tubes in a bucket (upright). I don't think that's good for short ends or stringers though.

Hi Carla,

Get some tile nippers (I think that's what they're called.) They have them at Home Depot or any hardware store.

I've got one, I just didn't know if it will cut the glass or shatter it?

I have some and they work great. No, they don't shatter it.

A regular glass cutter and two pairs of padded pliers will work too. Just score the rod on one side, position the pliers on either side of the score and bend. It's not necessary to score all the way around the rod.
