Grrr! Maybe you can get some caulk strips and seal around the edges of the windows, or tape plastic over the whole shebang?

Quite likely! She gets me alone from 9 am to 2 pm, enjoys the full attention of her siblings for a few hours, then goes back to being my lap-baby. I'm hoping that ll this attention will make her feel secure enough to be a little independent when she gets older...

according to the books [?] it should. my Johnny was like that. he was 9 weeks early - - and when little NEVER seemed to get enough attention. he finally outgrew that, but he's also the softie of the three.

Kalera -- I have taped and plastiqued (I made that word look more sophisticated than it was, LOL) to death, and this is what has saved me -- boiling water. LOL. I have a humidifier in my bedroom which I dug out and started using, spews out hot steam, and when I am not in bed I boil a pot of water in the kitchen. I am once again warm.

It did with mine. DD was the original velcro child, insisting on being held all the time, with her face looking outward, so she wouldn't miss anything. She's still a very cuddly, demonstrative person, and very definitely independent.

Ob. DD Story: DD has wanted to drive since birth. When she was less than two years old, she had a big fit because "It's not fair that you drive all the time! I never get to drive!" (Picture this little blonde pipsqueak all enraged and stamping her foot. I wanted to laugh so much, but she was really serious about the injustice of it all)

On her eighth birthday, she woke up and told me that she was "halfway old enough to get a driver's license!" Now, at any given time, she can tell you the number of years and months (and probably days and hours) until the golden day on which is legally old enough to drive. Since she knows she is scheduled to get her daddy's SUV when she gets her license, she checks the car quite often to make sure it's still in good shape and always asks Bob when he last changed the oil.

DD recently discovered that Massachusetts does not have an age restriction for small mopeds or powered scooters. This put an idea in her lead-footed little head and she's actively campaigning for a moped. We saw some at Costco the other night and she was drooling. I fear we're in for some disappointment on Christmas, because she is _not_ getting a moped. After all, it's winter here, and we live in a city. I really don't want my kid squashed quite yet.

There just might be a "secret cache" of the stuff somewhere there. Another reason to stay out of the barn.... (although the main danger in there is tripping and pulling down a cabinet full of hardware on top of yourself....).

My father liked guns, but he didn't scorn other stuff that went "boom" or "bang". And some of his friends are even more paranoid than he was about needing to defend themselves against "them"; all of them seemed to trade "neat stuff" around....

And if you make the windows leak at the ranch, you'd better invite those guinea hens inside a couple of times a day to take care of the creepy crawlies.... Kaytee "Simplexities" on

Yeah I was thinking more of turning the platique on them and creating....dinner. Roast guinea fowl. (OK you know I am kidding). With roast insects as a side dish, maybe (hey they eat them on TV all the time now). As if moving isn't going to be enough of an adventure (I started de-junking my apartment tonight) it just sounds so darn....interesting?

Carol -- I can just see Sarah chasing the chickens around the yard, LOL. Who would have guessed it would be me typing that sentence? LMAO LMAO LMAO.

(Re: guinea fowl)

You'd have to catch them first, to put the plastique and its fuse on them....

My aunt is coming to fetch the chickens.... But, the guy at the feedstore (Templeton Feed and Grain) can get you some of your own for Sarah to chase, if you'd like....

What furniture do you plan to bring? There is some there that you are welcome to use... let me know. Kaytee "Simplexities" on
