Boy does that bring back memories! Our babysitter kept chickens. That was when we lived in Downey and I was in kindergarten. My sister and I used to let the chickens out of the coop just so we could chase them back in. It was a blast. The woman next door to the sitter had a horse. Downey. As in the greater LA suburban sprawl. It was just orange groves and dairy farms back then. That was only 46 years ago. When I was born, my uncle had to come stay with us so that he could take my mother to the hospital when it was time. Phone service didn't run out as far as Downey. My dad was in Korea.
