I am going to get some patterns for hats, mittens, etc printed off. We don't have a printer here, and I called Job Connect in town and told them I needed these patterns printed off for making things for charity.... they are letting me print them off free of charge.
I made a promise to St Jude that I would do whatever I can to help people in need.... so I am going to print off some patterns, and start working on some warm items. Funny thing is... I had made this promise, and hadn't started because my hands and arms have been hurting from the Fibromyalgia... but in yesterday's mail I got a flyer from Inn of the Good Shepherd in the nearby city, and on the outside of the envelope it had a quote by St Francis of Assisi (who I love... he is the patron of animals, nature and the needy) that reads "For it is in giving that we receive." I thought, okay... I'm definitely being told to get off my butt and start doing what I promised. LOL
I have a bunch of knitted slippers already made up that I used to sell at craft shows that I am dividing up to give to Contact House here in town and Inn of the Good Shepherd in the nearby city. I bought some more yarn (I need more, like I need another hole in the head... and I really can't afford it, but it's important) this morning to make some knitted or crocheted scarves, hats, mittens, and crocheted socks (I only knit with two needles because I hold my needles funny, so some things need to be crocheted) to send off to help keep people in need from getting too cold this winter.
