Oh... I finally got it...

My "Mr Brown" Disco yarn, Mary Maxim catalogue, and three Freebie patterns (I already had two of them... the funky looking purse was the only one I

*didn't* have) came in the mail yesterday.... I forgot to mention it last night. :o) It's a neat colour, but with only one skein that size you really can't make much... guess if you want to make something with it you just have to go buy some more. So is Mary Maxim the only place to buy that particular type of yarn? I was in WalMart this morning, and while they had some funky looking yarn (eyelash, and other feathery type stuff), I didn't see any of the Disco yarn.

Me, too, yesterday. Walmart tonight had Disco, not that colour, and so did Michaels, but not that colour. Neither of them had the turquoise either; they must have distributed them all out free rather than to the stores! I used Nora's free Aqua ball with some Bernat Satin in white and knit her a little scarf, holding one strand of each together. She didn't mention that it was too short, but it definitely would've been a better lenght with even 1/2 a ball more. If I'd realized I'd be getting the brown I would've held onto her turquoise and made her a striped scarf. (Hey Nora, wanna send it back for me to frog and do over?)

I've seen it in our Michael's and the Meijer stores (midwestern grocery-department store chain)

Well... it could possibly be in the next aisle... I only looked on the one aisle where MOST of the yarns were. I guess I'll have to have another look when I go there again! :o)

I was able to knit a scarf using my one free ball of yarn. I normally make scarves of good length with the 50 gram balls of the novelty yarns. They are not extremely wide but for that type of yarn they don't need to be wide.

I have found disco Mr. Brown at Zellers, Micahels and Walmart maybe the smaller stores don't get the selection that we do.

My late mother once came back from a Holland visit with one rather tiny Skein of Mohair thread , that was supposed to be enough to crochet a rather netty shawl , and indeed it was enough ,,,, to all our surprised faces ,,,, mirjam

Neat! Well, I guess it depends on what you make with it and the type of pattern. :o)

That sounds very easy to do, Mirjam. I will send this to myself so I don't lose your instructions. :o)

Here's an easier way to keep stuff. Make a new file folder in your "local folders", name it what ever works for you, then drag and drop the message(s) you want to keep right into that folder. The computer makes a copy of the RCTY message for you when you drag and drop it. Then you don't have to send it to yourself. Works like a charm and keeps duplication down. (smile)

I have folders such as "family measurements", "jokes", "ISP", - anyhow, you get the picture.
