I couldn't asleep again last night. When I get bone cold I have a hard time falling asleep or staying asleep. Even though I had a comforter, two blankets, and a quilt on top of me I was cold. It's a vicious cycle.

My apartment is freezing. I had the heat on 70, and slept with three blankets also. The problem is that they replaced the windows last year, and did a piss poor job of it. There is so much cold air coming in around the windows. I can't wait to get out of this apartment! My nose is cold in my bedroom, LOL, and I type with a blanket on.

My DS's bedroom has a lame window job, too. We generally keep our heat at

78 degrees overnight (yeah, we're cold-blooded;o), but his room is always freezing! We've found that draping blankets over the window is the only way to keep the heat in. I made him some curtains to go over the blinds, but they just don't work as well :-\

Can't wait to get out of apartments!!

Don't tell me that! I actually got about 8 hours last night because DS slept for about 11 :-)

Hey, you're me! LOL except I can't say that now that my son is four... but I keep telling my husband, I HAVE to stay up late, it's the only time I get to have time for *me*!

I'm an 8-o-clock bedtime mom too, especially now that Juliet is in school (I'm still having a hard time believing that I'm a mom of three and one of them is in school... when did that happen, again?) if I don't have them in bed by 8 they won't get up in the morning without a fuss.

But this baby of mine... she doesn't sleep.

I have the same problem. It's that once I *get* cold I can't warm back up, sometimes for two or three days. If I spend four hours in my unheated and primitive studio on a cold night, I know I'm going to stay cold for at least 24 hours.

I bet the owners got suckered into it by one of those companies that claims they'll "cut heating costs with insulated vinyl windows!"

What a scam. It's more effective and a better value all around to have your old windows rehabbed; they come in, fill any leaks around the frame, replace the ropes and reattach the weights, and can replace the old super-thin glass with thicker glass or membrane glass, and you end up in a much better situation. Storms are great too. but people get suckered ina nd before they know it they're out $10,000 and have a bunch of crappy vinyl windows.

Kalera - that is exactly what happened, crappy vinyl window replacement. You nailed it. I want out, but can't see moving twice in the next few months so I am going to stay until it is time to go to CA Becki "In between the moon and you, the angels have a better view of the crumbling difference between wrong and right." -- Counting Crows

exactly. my father, otoh, always said: "when the kids sleep, you sleep. it's the only way you'll be able to keep up with them" of course, that was when they were newborns.

WEAR WARM SOCKS I've not slept without them for years, and once read an article that proved as long as your feet are warm - you will feel warmer all over. weird - but true. I sleep in a 68 degree room ...

how lucky for Fred if he's cold.... otherwise ... NOT!

too bad you can't package that extra energy and sell it... LOL

as for night time "heat" -- I've got that little gift from mother nature of waking up at 5 am feeling like I'm sleeping in the Sahara in August.... LOL
