These are wonderful. I love the tribal looking masks especially. I'd love to see what you'd do with Aleute masks.

Beautiful!!!!!
I do love the tribal masks...Aleutian Islands have FABULOUS masks. I do a mask swap every year, and have ammassed quite a collection--I think I have almost
200 now---but I want more.... SarajaneSarajane's Polymer Clay Gallery
Thanks Jerri! I host a mask swap every year, and was in several before that---swaps are such a great way to build a collection! Sarajane

I loved almost all of these! What do you do with them? Do you wear or display them, Sarah?

I have two or three copies of my own masks that I do wear, especially the Noh maiden. The others I have mounted into 4 framed pieces, glued onto a backing of billiard table felt---brilliant turquoise, dark rust and forest green. Bryan used to install tables--they would throw away the extra felt, and we rescued many scraps. These masks make GREAT pieces when clustered together. Sarajane

I would just love to see your home!

I'm pretty cluttered in spots...all those BEADS laying about, then the fabric scraps, and the paper pieces, and all the clay stuff, then there's the other people here and all THEIR stuff. But we like it, even if its a little messy for some. Truly its all pretty organized--but there's lots of it! Sarajane

You know what? I feel right at home in a cluttered or messy home. It's what often times makes a house a home and if a visitor or guest is comfortable the clutter or whatever isn't even noticed, really.
I had a friend and her family come and visit me last year. I spent a goodly amount of time reorging and decluttering only for them to arrive and thoroughly make themselves at home with their own mess and clutter. I need not have bothered beyond the usual cleaning, you know? Lessons learned....:=)
And I'm babbling!

- what an incredible collection of creativity! they must be fun just to sit and look at. How do you display them?
do you have a case or something... would be a shame for them just to sit in boxes.....

I covered flat pieces of board with billiard felt in turquoise, rust and green (solid pieces) and then glued the masks on and framed them, no glass though, just wood frames. There's a pic of about 1/3 of them on pgs 136 and 137 of "Create A Polymer Clay Impression" though the frame is cropped out of the shot.

Everyone in a while, usually when we get good news about the engine, Pete and I dream about how to fix the house. The first thing always involves beefing up the foundation, then adding a second layer of logs. Right now we have a large "room" for our bedroom, computers and TV. About 10 x 24. Pete always tells me I should use my desk just for beads, but I do also have use for desk things -- paper and computer things. I would love the room to be twice as big and have all my beads in reach, yet still be right next to Pete.
