Ooooooooo La La bracelet

I don't know why I've wanted to try making one of these. This so does NOT go with my wardrobe of jeans and t-shirts.

I saw a pattern for one in a WAJ magazine, but the stones didn't go all the way around and I didn't like so much wrap that was on it, so I just sort of figured out what I wanted to do and did it. I'm pretty pleased that I did it on my own without using a pattern! I thought it out pretty well. I only had to make one little change because something wasn't going to work. I got the fake birthstones from Fire Mountain. I'm not a big FM fan, but it was the only place I saw them cheap. They are 4mm stones set into snap sets that I got from Rio Grande.

Now I'm thinking that I'd like to make one blue/white or maybe in fall colors of amythest/peridot/yellow topaz the next time I can buy a few more fake stones! I guess I need to get out to the opera now and then, so I can wear this fancy thing!

Lol. Thanks Vicki and Pam,

Maybe I just need to invest in a few plain shirts rather than all my free microsoft tees that hubby gets, and all my free blood donor tees. It seems like that's all I wear!

That would certainly do it. May I recommend Hanes Her Way, available at Wal-Mart (among other places)? You'll need to buy a size larger than what you wear in a unisex tee. I have a collection of these specifically for wearing to show off my own necklaces; even a fairly fancy piece looks just fine with a plain tee and knit slacks or skirt.

I love the natural stones and cats yes, for this bracelet is for the faceted stones in the setting. You need the settings to make the bracelet.

That's what we have here, a WalMart. I just haven't bought anything, other than a pair of jeans, in ages. I'll have to check out those plain tees!

Ooooooooo. Cobalt and aqua sounds pretty. I'll have to hunt around for more stones. The ones I have only come in birthstone colors. I'd love to find something like a deep tourmaline green. I think the fake aquamarine, zircon, and sapphire would be pretty too.

Hi Beki,

I was thinking these would make a good mother or grandmother's bracelet. I can't really tell from the picture if those chatons would work or not. How big are the stones? These are 4mm. Anything smaller, and I don't think the wire would fit.

darlin', i wear my Swarovski crystal with t-shirts and sweatshirts whether they have anything on them or not. bracelets are different from necklaces - - they really "dress you up" and make you feel good no matter WHAT you are wearing!
