I've had the 'flu for the last couple of days. I'm a great believer in staying in bed when sick and not inflicting my misery or germs on anyone else. Today, however, my boss rang me at home with a minor panic attack over something. So, I resentfully dragged my sorry, snot-ridden carcass into the office.
Now, when ever I get sick and someone asks how I am, my standard response is, "I'm sick. Buy me a pony." I've said it for more years than I can remember.
As I muttered grumpily to myself while unlocking my office door, what should I find waiting for me on my office chair but a mint green, My Little Pony. It has lavendar hooves and long, green and white tail and mane.
My very dear friend Ann, the CEO's PA had bought it for me. It's the first time anyone has actually bought me a pony when I'm sick. It almost made it worth schlepping into the office!
