Well, we've moved to Madras, in Central Oregon. Was really HOT (113f) for a while, but we also moved the heatpump so that's better now... Took forever to figure out how to hook up to the group again... but fried brains are like that! WOW, have I missed you guys!!!! Still much to do in settling in, but I'll get there.

Hi! Welcome back. We went through Madras on our trip to the John Day fossil beds earlier this summer. It was already hot then. But the surrounding territory was gorgeous, in a rather desolate way. The town of Madras looked big enough to have conveniences, and small enough to be 'homey'.
How do you feel about it now that the heat pump is working?

I am about a decade away from the time I had to declare bankruptcy, after a year of illness... Lost my house. Spent some time as a 'lodger' in a rented room, getting back on my feet again, both financially and physically.
It turned out to be a turning point rather than a disaster, in retrospect. I hope it feels like that to you from a similar vantage point in the future.
