OT: Just had a long talk

Lets not forget that taking antibiotics and birthcontrol pills dont work together. I know of kids concieved despite diaphrams, IUD, the pill, the rhythm method, you name it.. even know of a gal who didnt have intercourse but got pregnant anyway. Abstaining is the only real form of birth control that works but 16 year olds have a lot of hormones. Diana

Yeah, I hate the pills too. I was never good at taking them either. Thankfully I had both girls when I decided I wanted to have them.

I sure remember my 16 year old years. My hormones were raging and I do feel bad for kids these days. I guess the only reason I never got pregnant was it wasn't time for my body to do so because birth control was not a topic you could discuss with parents. Especially my grandparents.

I just wish her parents would charge statutory rape. It would make me feel much better knowing he is away from her>

I still don't understand HER parents... but, if they don't want to take responsibility -then someone must do it -- even if it is the state. I'm not a big fan of "children's services" - but in this case - I think it is time for some strong intervention. Maybe CS will talk some sense into the parents - and get her back home where she belongs - along with some family counseling.... Please call them tomorrow.... I am calling. Her parents think she will run off and do what she wants if they don't give in. That was the case with all three older girls as well. Only one is doing a thing with her life. The oldest is a stripper with a sideline of business (you know what I mean.) The next up from Amanda is a drug addict. The 2nd daughter is the only one that is okay. She is in the military and has a fantastic career and love life.

I got pregnant twice while on birth control pills. Is he unable to unwrap a condom? If he's man enough to have sex he's man enough to use a condom. There are other options too but there are some other issues that need handling first.

His parents need a real wake-up call! He's married, lives at home with a teenager he's not married to and their response is to take his truck away?

*sigh* I think it's time for the clue-by-four for them all.

It takes two to tango, she needs to be removed from that environment entirely. I know it's easy to give opinions when it's not my problem, but this is something that really concerns me. She's too young to be going through this, and her self-esteem will take years to recover if at all. And that boy needs a real lesson in being a man.

I know this is tearing you up, but you can't live everyone else's lives for them. Do what you can and then accept that they have to make their own mistakes and don't push yourself beyond what is right and possible for you to do.

That said, she's a lucky girl to have someone like you worrying about her.
