OT: Just had a long talk

Grrr...I'm so mad I could beat Trinkett! Not that I would but I would have to be pretty damn mad to want to hurt my best friend. I just found out Amanda is pregnant again and dumba** wants her to have another abortion!

He got her pregnant less than a year ago and she had an abortion and now again. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. I threatened him within an inch of his life a little while ago. I swear that boy/man only thinks of himself. He actually told me his parents would take away his truck if he had another child!?!!!!! I told him I was going to take away those abilities if he made her do something she doesn't want to do. He is responsible in this as well.

Okay, vent stopped.

Who is Amanda (don't remember you talking about her before)? Is she one of your daughters? (just curious) Anyway, I hope that everything turns out ok for her. I am gonna take a guess and say the dumbass you referred to is her boyfriend, I hope he gets a good swift kick in the ass for being such an idiot...

Good thoughts coming Amanda's way and "Swift Kick in the Ass" thoughts coming for the Dumbass who got her pregnant and wants her to have another abortion!

Amanda is my best friend's daughter. She was barely 16 when she got pregnant the first time. He already was married with a baby and another on the way. He is still married but Amanda lives with him at his parent's home.

oh god.

I hope that she has (or gets) the sence not to stay with him :(. The fact that he already has other babies isn't a good sign.

His parents are letting a 16 year old girl live in the house with him and them, and are threatening to take away his driving priveledges if another baby appears?????

If he is married to someone else, why is she living at his parents' home???

ok

sorry..

Sounds like what she needs is a visit to Planned Parenthood for birth control. :(

What is the legal age of consent in your neck of the woods? Diana

Most importantly, what does Amanda want to do? What's done is done... And I agree with another of the posters: Amanda needs a trip to Planned Parenthood.

I completely agree with the birth control issue. Planned Parenthood can offer BC at a low cost for non-working people. I think HE needs to go as well and get educated on the whole issue. I am sure he knows how this happens.

I think someone needs to talk to these parents of his. Because how is he supposed to be a dad when his parents can't be parents. I would never let my son or daughter live with anyone else in MY home while they are married with children to someone else. WRONG WRONG WRONG. What values and morales are you teaching. Children (big or small) learn by example.

I also feel you have the right to vent!

I hope that all involve can find the help and support they need in the difficult decision that needs to be made. Truck or no Truck we are talking about a life that has been created! And taking it away because someone wants their truck? Let's all think about that for a minute.

And a very long talk about her own self worth, and why she's too good to hang around with a married man who cheats on his wife.

You can send her up her for some intensive parenting. Might get a little confusting with two Amandas in the house, but we'd manage.

Sigh,

P.S.: The name "Amanda" means "worthy of love." Sounds like this Amanda has confused sex and attention for real love. What a shame - I hope she can get her head together and realize her own self worth.

well first off someone call the damn cops we are talking about statutory rape and adultery...

She has been on birth control both times. In fact one made her so sick she was in the ER for hours. Unfortunately I guess they are very fertile.

I would love to send Amanda your way. She really would get a big change in parenting lessons.

It's 17. I remember because I was one away from home living with my boyfriend still maintaining a straight A average at school and participating in UIL.

I wholeheartedly agree with everyone. I wish he was locked up.

Starlia,

I don't mean this in a bad way, but I have heard from a health care professional who has had a lot of experience in these things that the reason for most "failure" rates in birth control mechanisms, including the high rates for ones which you don't swallow, is lying or partial lying on the side of the users. They don't tell their family or friends that they actually miss pills or "don't feel like" or forget to use other things some of the time.

Birth control pills have to be taken pretty carefully. If you miss one or two you have to follow instructions exactly. If you miss three you have to use alternate protection for 3 months. At least, that was what I was told the week before my wedding by a pharmasist afer I had missed

2 or 3 (couldn't figure out how many). I was pretty upset, because I had been taking birth control for 4 months leading up to our big day (first time for both of us... sorry if that is too much detail). DH fortunately was very understanding.

I can see two things: one is both Amandas and me sitting on the kitchen floor, talking about our dreams. (Well, they talk - I hand out cookies and Diet Cokes and listen)

The other is what would happen the first time her "boy"friend tried to call or come to the house. (I hope for his sake it would be a phone call) Bob is a dragon about checking the caller ID, and I'd laugh my *ss off if that jerk tried to call here and Bob answered the phone. Bob's not very welcoming in situations like that.

He'd be praying for Zeebree. (heh, heh, heh)

unfortunately, there really are people who DO follow the instructions and they don't work anyway. my oldest is a prime example.
