I just had to share with someone who would understand

My grandma gave my mom an envelope of pictures of me and my grandpa and my cousin when I was a kid. Pics I knew were out there but I didn't know where or if they still existed.... pics of some of the best childhood memories I had but had no pics of. Swimming in the ocean with my grandpa, steam engine shows. Riding this mini tractor a friend had. The ocean pics were my favorite... and good clear pics of the man who raised me.. my grandpa. My mom and dad showed up today and I'm so giddy over these pictures they could scream at me for the next week and I wouldn't care. There are about 40 pics and I just sat here for an hour going through them.

WOW.

I just had to share with someone who would get it. I don't have kids. I have memories. Now I have pics of the memories and I had maybe two pics of my grandpa as I remembered him my whole life. Now I have alot more. And pics of the most special times.

Wow.

Oh RJ that is such good news. I know how it feels to find old pics of yourself when you were a child. It just lets those wonderful memories come back. What a nice house guest gift. Have fun and enjoy!

I envy you! You are so lucky to have all those wonderful pictures! I have a few pictures of me as a child and a few of me as an adult, but maybe 3 of me between the ages of 9 and 23 and none of my family during that period either. So I do understand how wonderful these pictures of you and your grandpa must be for you!

This is wonderful to hear, RJ! I know you are excited, and so glad to have them. I felt somewhat like that when I got my mother's photos after she died several years ago. Photos I didn't know existed. I hope you have a great trip down memory lane, scrapping (or just sitting and remembering) with them!

I know just how you feel! I love seeing old pictures that I had not seen before. My aunt gave me some older pics of my dads side of the family, and My grandma and grandpa let me borrow their OLD( black felt pages) scrapbook, so I can get some old pics of my mom and her sister. I am very happy for you! Those are pictures to treasure..make sure you get copies of them if you are going to scrap them! Have fun Linda C Illinois
