OT: My new terrierist.

My Golden/Chow mix, that I'd been fostering since Dec. just got adopted. It was a tough day, but I think the woman who adopted her is going to give her the most wonderful home. She came out to meet Bea, and took a picture of her (to e-mail her mom).

When I went out for the home visit, she had food and water dishes out, a basket of toys, and there was Bea's framed photo, on top of her tv.

Anyway, after reminding the director of the shelter that I am NOT a Jack Russell person, I got one. This little guy apparently either jumped or was thrown from a car. A lady with two jack russells was fostering him, but she broke her shoulder and can't handle him right now. Since the director is going out of town for a couple of days, she asked me to take him. If he's not too difficult, I'll keep fostering him until he's adopted. If he is, he's going back to her when she gets back!!!

So far, he's been fine. Spike's not too sure about him yet, so I haven't let them play together. He just looks at him like, "Is that thing really a dog?" I'll give it a few days before I try that.

I've never had a little dog that I could just scoop up with one arm and hold, so we're having some fun with him. Here's the picture:

I'm glad Bea got a good home, even though it must be hard for you to separate from her. That Jack Russell is SO cute!! I know they have a reputation for being willful, what is their behavior like? I really admire you for fostering these dogs. I know I couldn't give them up. My son's girlfriend's Siamese is going to have her first litter - I really would love another Siamese, but neither Lou, Perry, or I'm sure, Taupaws would be happy about that. Patti

If you were in the Uk I would adopt him in a flash.

I miss my JR's. Shirley

So far, this little guy has been pretty well behaved. I'm afraid he'll show his true colors as he gets more comfortable though. Lol. We'll see!

I love siamese. It sounds like you have your hand full with three though!

Awwwwwwww, I wish you could. It'd be nice for him to go to somebody who understood the breed!

He was adopted once, but returned because he chewed up the lady's shoes. Well, duh. He's a young active dog. He needs something to do!

I think the fault is with the owner not the dog. If you do not want them to chew your things you make sure they are safely tucked away. You give them their own things to chew on. Puppies and young dogs do chew it is because their new teeth are coming in. They settle eventually.

My little Susie was like an extension of my right thigh. When ever I sat down she would come and lay alongside of my thigh. She was lovely and soft to stroke. Her mother used to lay alongside my DH as he sat in the chair. The mother died in my arms when she was 16 and Susie was 17 when her kidneys failed. It brings a lump to my throat when I think of it. Awwwwwwwww, I know you miss them. This little guy is just full of personality. We just went for a 3 mile walk tonight and he wants to walk right along with Spike like he's one of the big dogs!
