Re: Like I need this

DD and my mother missed their connection in Philadelphia. The flights from

Ya know, there are only a couple of alcoholic beverages I actually miss: margaritas (the good ones with salt) and champagne. It's not like I ever had either one more than once a year, but I always enjoyed them when I had them.

But I have my baby back home again, and we're having a great time together. Last night, she had a craving for steak so we went to a local steakhouse. I had a lovely cup of clam chowder and she had a side of beef or some such. We toasted each other with our sodas, and had sword fights with the little plastic swords that held our drink garnishes. Our waitress joined in the mood, and brought us our drink refills in glasses that had to be a foot high! (We were all joking back and forth) It was great.

The luggage arrived yesterday afternoon, and I swear the airline was using it for target practice. The zipper on the duffel bag was completely torn off, and the bag was being held together with packing tape. The hard sided suitcase was just smashed. Fortunately, the only casualties were the two bottles of beer that DD was bringing home for her daddy.

My mother called and invited DD to spend the weekend with her. (huh?) After laughing uproariously, we politely told her that we have other plans.
