Hmmm....I know who YOU are....maybe I've never posted anything you've been interested in before LOL! I've been around for almost two years now...
I totally agree with your advice, but you really clarified the idea that was already fuzzy in my mind ;o) Even the 4th of July thing was a convienient accident. I've never really cared to make a business outta jewelry. I just want to support my hobby, kwim? I can do that pretty easily just selling piece by piece, to random friends/family. I think the root of the reason I was so upset is that I can't stand the thought of someone out there throwing their money away on something that is low quality, when they could be happy with the "good stuff" for only a few dollars more. I know most of the people visiting that particular auction site are stay at home moms, and don't hae the money to do that. AND, I have the thought that if they are disappointed in the piece they win, they may be soured to the idea of buying any more, even if it is better quality (talking about this particular site/group of people). Maybe I felt esentful that I was pressured into doing something that involved a lot of work, and then didn't even see any reward for the work I didn't want to do in the first place.
The more I think/talk about it, the stupider it sounds, LOL
What I've done over the past few days is set up my jewelry displays in my house. I have a long high "breakfast bar" (which is so unuseable for that purpose) that seperates my kitchen from the rest of my home. Here, I set up my necklaces, bracelet, and earring displays, and I've already gotten two sales just from people that come over and see the stuff sitting out. We have so many door-to-door solicitors, and all my friends, over all the time, and it seems to be working out well enough, so far :o)
