stringing wire

Hi tehre, I have had several bracelets that are worn everyday break. They have broken in the middle and close to the ends. As I look at the wire, it looks like the beads have just worn the wire until the threads of the wire snap. I use accuflex and/or softflex 21 strand med. Does anyone have any suggestions? I hear people are going to silk thread. Bev.

Try a 49 strand wire like SoftFlex or Softtouch. What kind of beads are these bracelets made of?

Use the thickest (.024 with 49 strands for Softflex) for bracelets. Bracelets take the worst treatment of all jewelry. If the beads are sharp at the edges, file them down.

It sounds like the beads have rough edges. How about taking a diamond bead reamer to the holes to smooth them out a bit and then restrining on PowerPro, which is supposed to be totally abrasion resistant?

Now matter what I used to string the bracelet, I'd definitely use a double strand for safety, if the bead holes will allow it in any way.
