I think your instincts are right on. I love the interplay of light and color in your boro beads. And considering the wide variety of your recent beads, I don't think you truly need to worry about getting locked in!

For me it's all about color. Try different approaches and see what kinds of feedback you receive.

I am absolutely smitten with boro that looks like this:

LOL thank you for the reality check (and Elise, too). To me it feels like I'm doing the same old thing, but I guess it's really thingS.

I rewarded myself by obsessing over silver foil yesterday afternoon. Damn fine stuff! I made the DUH! discovery that a lot of the coloring is just the rubino and silver reacting, and here I'd thought that the ivory I use underneath was more mission-critical. Lots of others knew this, it was a lightbulb moment for me. I got the result over ivory so I just stuck with that. Off to swat myself with a 2x4.

After I list auctions....the beads came out great (just peeked). Film (and listings) at 11.

Those are really nice, and remind me of the conclusion that I came to recently; it's not that I don't care for boro, it's that I don't care for the same-old boro look that you see everywhere. I like a lot of the "out of the box" boro I've seen lately.
