Same age as my son Harry, my youngest son whose birthday was on Thursday. See I told you I was old enough to be your mum. Shirley

Shirley, I didn't get it! I would have answered. This working full time stuff is nuts. Plus, Ann is in a play right now so she needs a driver. They are doing the Wizard of Oz.

I miss you and think of you often. How are you feeling and what is new?

We've had some interesting discussions on this before, you might want to google for it.

Most agree that vintage means 50 years old to 100 years old. Anything over

100 years old is considered antique.

Of course the term vintage is VERY loosely used, especially in auction descriptions, and can mean anything from used, really old, I don't have a clue, grubby & dirty, to something that is vintage STYLE.

The reason the word vintage is used so often is that it is a buzzword that attracts buyers. It has the connotation of being scarce and therefore desirable.

One thing that makes it all even more confusing is there is a lot of contemporary beads, cabs, components and jewelry that is either made in a vintage style, or perhaps is still being made from vintage designs.

In this context, it makes it very important to educate yourself and to know your seller and trust him/her!

I thought so. But it makes me feel old. Vintage to me was something from the 50's. I'm seeing things from the seventies being called vintage. lol

Okay. I'm going to have to do some research on this. I'm finding I love the old stuff. After tomorrow I will have more time. (finals)

Look in the bookstore? Look in my jewelry box! I was

32 twenty years ago. Not that long! You should see all the truly ugly earrings I'm selling in my MIL's moving sale. All from the 70's and 80's. Barbara Dream Master
