It would seem that NZ'ers are as big if not bigger rev-heads than Aussies. Everything between Hokitika and Franz Joseph is booked out, there's some kind of car rally/race or what ever, on. Best I stay away, really!. We decided to go mid-week when things settle down. Ah well....
Something I'm not used to: the road to Arthur's Pass was closed last night due to bad weather in the Southern Alps. *gulp* Having done quite a bit of driving on those mountain switchbacks now, I would hate to think what they're like in bad weather!
