Yeah, I did, even tho' I made the ugliest beads on the planet, LOL. I almost gave up, but the assistant instructor gave me some 1 on 1 time that really helped. The good round beads and the purple swirly one (made from a twistie that I made) are the result of her assistance/coaching.
I also made some artglass beads that were very cool, very boro-y, but the clear they had for me to encase with wasn't compatible and they both cracked and broke. Oh well..

Wooooohooooooooooooooooooooo! YeeeeHAW!!! Go Barbara! Was it fun? It will probably feel rather alien the first couple of times. Kind of like patting your head while rubbing your tummy. LOL!
You did GREAT! And I think those will make a fab bracelet!

For the most part, yeah. I need to get over my issues with wanting to be perfect right from the start, though! :-)

Yup, I know that one well. I was so anxious the first day I sat behind a torch 'cause I was worried I'd be totally awful at it, and that would dash the dreams that I'd been having for years of making lampwork beads.

Yay for you!! :o) First thing I noticed was that they look really well balanced, specially for your first attempts. Lopsided beads are my biggest pet peeve when it comes to lampwork ;o)
Can't wait to see more! :o)

Naw, I'll still be buying from others - there's no way I can become so good at all aspects of a craft that I can satisfy my own needs.

Thanks, Kyla. Some are better centered than others, and of course there are the few that I thought were messed up, when as it turns out, all I needed was more time in the torch to let the glass do what it will do (get round!). Either way, I had a good time.

Yeah, my first beads had a lovely pucker on one end and a pointy hole on the other! Sorted it out with a combo of level mandrel and a little more glass.
My faves are the even gold one (nice colour), the swirly (love cylinder-shape beads) and the white one on the end (love the swirly shape).
