American flag blue

An interesting question. The blue in the American flag is called Old Glory Blue and is Pantone color 282 or 281C. The RGB equivilent for 282 is 0 38

1. I do not have an equivalent for 281C but 281 is 0 40 104. So there is no red at all in the color. I do not see any DMC color that would be a match, but you may want to try 311 Navy Blue MED. (0 79 97) and 823 Navy Blue DK. (0 0 73)in combination.

How did you do that? I have the Pantone color chips and numbers, but not the DMC RGB equivilent numbers.

What program / site did you use to find the DMC numbers?

Of course, I could have forgotten about them somewhere along the way.......

My old version of PatternMaker gives the RGBs, but you have to check each color individually in that version; maybe the new version will let you print out a complete list.

The blues I have on hand are either too dark or too grey but I'll stock up on the colors you suggested next time I'm out. Thanks
