I entered two pieces into the Dixie Classic Fair in Winston-Salem this year - my purple quilt and the goldwork bird (both in Fran's Stuff in RCTNP).
I won 1st place in the beginner's quilt section and 3rd in the embroidery. Pretty good for my 1st time entering anything.

Do you mean Enchantment ? If so, very nice, well done.
Yup, that's the one. There was a lot of cross stitch entered, but not much else. I did see one hardanger peice and one other that was a memory-peice, but not much that I would call embroidery. The piece that won 1st prize was a very nicely done bit of a man and his dog in the winter woods that I strongly suspect was an original design.
