Oh, admit it: your eyes glazed over and you moved on to more interesting stuff long before the discussion got to that point. I shoulda! LOL!

I really don't know what shape the city of Bialystock is since I have no desire to visit there. It's history and my ancestors weren't a particularly good mix?

As far as what color a hockey puck is and it's resemblance to a bialy roll, I meant one that's been rolling around on muddy ice and is about the same size, shape and to some people's thinking, taste. lol

More important to me at the moment is what the hell is Puff dreaming about.? He's fast asleep on the floor woofing and barking loud enough for me to hear him in the next room. I wonder what's going on in his sleepworld?

I have vague memories of a sweet little ditty about dancing on somene's green green grave while they are dust beneath. Not sure whether it was the Scottish or the Scandinavian side of the family it came from---in terms of long grudges, six of one....... Dawne

Sounds very reasonable to me.

Sounds like something not a particularly good mix with my morning coffee. Ick.

Personally I like them, but maybe it's an acquired taste like some of the stuff I hear people drooling over here..

You are on to something, I think, as that would mean I have it from both sides of the family, and so why forgiveness is not one of my primary virtues. (I do have some. I think they are in a box somewhere with the old Christmas lights) Dawne

Now that is a brilliant suggestion because I have long jettisoned the old Christmas lights. I am the proud owner of a fibre optic tree, just made for the likes of me lol

Might have happed that way too - especially if I was trying to read first thing in the AM.

Exactly -

Sigh - ages since I've had lox or a decent bagel, let alone a bialy.

There's a company called Ralph's that supplies a package of 6 bialiys that are fairly close to the real thing. Small, pretty flat and a reasonably good facsimile. They are kept in the frozen section of Publix, where the dreadful frozen Lender's bagels are.

I'm not sure they're distributed nationally, but you could try. I would send you some but with the mail the way it is they would probably truly be like hockey pucks by the time you got them.

Well, since I haven't sent your package yet - I could include some.....There's actually a really good, pretty authentic bagel/deli place about 10 mi from the house - which isn't too bad. Darn it - Donna was just near there today, too. Just let me know!
