Somehow it would seem to me it would not be quite that easy. For a start, any Dean worth his/her salt would regard that sort of reporting with a jaundiced eye, probably thinking it is just some pissed off student thinking they are being smart.

Secondly if a profs career is in jeopardy that easily, then something really stinks in Denmark and academia has ground to a new low.

I have faith you'll be back there making those idle students work.

Oh, it's not that easy, but I'm not going to forget the threat was made any time soon. The fact that it was made by someone who had no idea what the hell she was talking about (so what else is new) doesn't make the affront any smaller.

Actually, the red/white flag in its current form dates to 1919. The flag and the eagle persisted even under communism. The difference was that the eagle had no crown under the communists. And now that it has regained its crown (since 1989), the crown no longer has a cross on top. These are actually very minor changes, but symbollically they were very important as part of the reaction to the collapse of communism and Soviet domination in Poland.

Ah, but you may never have had a real bagel....bialys are different - not so gluten-y.

Hey, we have plenty of both in this household, and I guarantee you that DH has never confused them... Actually, he is quite fond of bialys. As was my Ddad. I'm okay with them - but prefer really good bagels. Which when old have more resemblance to hockey pucks, despite the center hole.

I was referring, of course, to conjecture about its shape. FAIK the place is large, laid out in a circle, with a flat skyscape and .....exactly what colour is a dirty hockey puck anyway?????

It's more than likely I have not had a real bagel, the bialys probably would be more appealing I think from that description.

Karen threatened to report her to her Dean for outrageous views that might contaminate her students, as in have her fired.

Hmmm - I wonder which of us will have to try and send you some. For extremes, my DB & SIL - who live in Boca, where you can actually get good bagels, have bagels sent from NYC several times a year. She's very picky - and privileged. But, I'll have to think about this. Of course, bialys would come too.

For me, it depends on my mood as I really like both. Not that I can easily get either, but such is life. Cheryl

Karen C.'s gonna tell my academic dean on me because I called her a dipshit and get me fired. Do try to keep up, dear.
