Doing something new

I went to the Missouri state fair when I was a kid. I saw the stitcheries and quilts and thought, "I could do that." Since then, I never had the opportunity to enter anything in the fair and if I did, it didn't occur to me.

So last night I got a wild hare and wondered if the deadline was past for entering something into the fair. Lo and behold! It hadn't. So...this morning I gathered up my $5.00 in couch cushion change and sent it off to the MO state fair for 8 pieces.

There is only one piece (a bell pull) I entered that I haven't quite finished yet, but it *will* be done. I still have to embroider the inscription on the back, back stitch the front, bead it, do the cut work and klosters, attach the back, and hang it on the hardware--but I have until August 7 to get that done. By the way, this is the wedding sampler for my friend who got married 5 years ago.

I cannot TELL you all how excited I am to finally be doing something I wanted to do when I was a kid but was not able to at that time.

down to Home Economics. Oh, it'll be fun to have another RCTN'r!

Lots of luck to you!!!

I've got to get my angel washed, ironed and at least mounted on some matting to get mine ready for next month's county fair. I may try enter something in the state fair, if I can figure out how to get it there and back (210 miles away).

Hi! My current WIP is a pre-printed canvas I have not stitched untill now. I have had it some time already but you know how it goes...new projects push the old ones away...and rather easily.

So...My current project...it is a flower thing...but there is few things you could use to recognize it. In upper border, horizontally, it says Hackenrose. And in lower border, horizontally, it says A1313-003. To me those things say nothing, but if they do say something to someone here, that person can find out the way my current WIP looks. The picture taken by me...I think I will offer that later. Best: Pirjo
