finishing stuff!

Just had to post a little woohoo happy dance! I have been on a sewing kick, I've finished 2 pillows in 2 days, and have the materials to finish one more! yipee! The first one is a sports motif tooth fairy needlepoint pillow for my 6 year old nephew. The second is a chain stitch embroidered sort of jacobean/paisly abstract pattern done in an overdye silk wool blend variegated in lavendar, blue and teal. I used a lavendar raw silk for the back, with a beaded fringe with all 3 colors. I think it's fabulous. I'm so pleased. The third is my Morris-inspired robin from HNG's sampler gathering. It is stiched on a brocade tapestry type fabric, in a really kind of strange shade of green. I found 2 yards of a complementary satin fabric on a $1 a yard table at the local fabric store, and am going to use an ivory tassle fringe on it. The stitching itself is pretty small, so it will be surrounded by the satin, which will also be the backing. I hate to sew. I hate having to figure out how many inches of this and that I need, so I'm going to run up and work on this last one before the spirit to do it runs out! Have a great weekend! Jules
